Services

Taylor Corporation Ltd provides the following services to growers and exporters.  Each of these services are performed to the highest possible standard.

Packing
Our Pack House is a modern and technically sophisticated facility, boasting some of the most advanced equipment to support & maintain accuracy as well as total fruit care.

Truly optimised pack house facilities are few and far between. Too small and the investment in industrial technology is demanding and increases cost, too large and the facility takes over control. We have deliberately invested in our packing facility to be one step ahead of market requirements, so that we can deliver to the demands, while focusing on maintaining manageability.

We have established a loyal grower group representing between 550,000 and 750,000 cartons of fruit each season, allowing us to have a perfect mix between investment and manageability. This allows us to deliver excellent service at an excellent price.

Our ever increasing focus on client service management has seen some new initiatives that ensure our field service team have information at their fingertips to support grower requests. We can quickly update information from the pack house to growers both manually and electronically in an effort to keep them fully appraised of their fruit quality.

We have an ample supply of fruit bins and cool storage to assist the growers in picking and cool chain management. Our integrated bin inventory and crop forecasting systems allow close management of fruit bin requirements for our growers, in addition more than doubling our supply of fruit bins for the 2001 season will ensure that bins are always available.

Delayed packing facilities ensure that we have maximum control over the quality lifecycle of fruit throughout our operation. With the introduction of Supply Group management we will utilise our delayed packing options to their full extent.
Each bin is tracked both empty and full. Once received on site with fruit we monitor cool chain, production schedules and specific requirements of each bin to ensure the best of care.
The entering product of each bin  is verified and weighed into the water dump, utilising dual water dumps and fruit washers the presentation of the clean fruit to the graders ensures the best levels of defect inspection is managed.

Colour and high speed electronic sorting maximises the delivery of fruit to our automated tray fillers. Fruit presentation and inspection is again managed through to the point where the fruit enters the required carton.

Quality Control
We employ qualified pack house quality control staff for inspection at arrival, post grading, post packing and pre-shipment to audit both export and reject fruit on a percentage basis.

All lines of fruit have a reject analysis completed during the packing phase and the results are forwarded to the grower. All export lines are quality controlled and monitored accuratley utilising our advanced in-house QA software. Independent exporter quality auditors also verify these results.

If a problem is discovered, systems are in place to ensure information is relayed immediately to field staff so growers have the opportunity to react and change harvesting techniques if required. In the case when non-compliance of fruit occurs, all fruit within the inspection lot and/or production line is immediately suspended, including palletised product on or off site. Only once re-checks, re-packs or disposal has been completed is any fruit released from suspension.

End of season reports of all pests, disease and defect issues are forwarded to each grower to enable them to assess their individual situation and implement any necessary changes for prevention in the coming seasons.

Field Service
Quality control starts in the field!. Our field representative is here to assist growers with fruit quality issues.  Frequent discussion groups for pests and diseases, pruning, thinning, planting, harvest management and cool-chain requirements are some of the major areas of involvement.
